John Ledbetter (III) - Biography
With 15 years of experience from New Orleans, New York, San Francisco and Orange County, Chef John will bring his passion for cooking into your home. Whether it be for a backyard barbecue, social event or just a family dinner, let us take the worry out of your day so you can make the most of your party. We will work closely with you to create a menu tailored for your specific affair. Chef John Ledbetter prides himself on using seasonal flavors and quality ingredients from local farmers' markets and reputable restaurant purveyors.Born and raised in Huntington Beach, John Ledbetter has always had a love for eating and creating great, flavorful food. Since graduating from the California School of Culinary Arts in Pasadena, CA in 2000, he has ventured all over the country challenging himself and increasing his culinary knowledge. His first stop was Bella Luna Restaurant in New Orleans for a change in culture and scenery. Sadly, Bella Luna was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The next two years were spent working hard at Emeril’s and Restaurant August. In 2003 John fulfilled his life-long ambition and moved to NYC. He worked at Union Square Cafe before becoming the opening sous-chef for Chef Scott Fratangelo at Spigolo. 2006 brought him back to California where he worked at Street Restaurant in San Francisco. As a sous-chef John joined Lark Creek Steak in 2007, and was quickly promoted to executive chef. Saying goodbye to San Francisco 4 years later, his love of South American flavors took him across the bridge to Oakland to be the executive chef at Bocanova Restaurant in Jack London Square. In 2013 he returned to Orange County to work with the Lark Creek Restaurant Group again as the opening executive chef of Lark Creek Newport Beach in Fashion Island. Now you can find John and his wife, Nicole, doing events for all different occasions in Orange County and surrounding areas.
