Agron (Greek: ; 250 - 230 BC) was the greatest king of the Ardaeian State and the son of Pleuratus. Agron brought e great revival among the Illyrians and during his reign the Ardaeian State was not only the most powerful Illyrian State of the time but also one of the greatest in the Balkans. He succeeded in extending Illyrian rule over many peoples and cities in the Adriatic and Ionian. He is most famed for his decisive win over the Aetolians who at the time were ranked the strongest in Greece. Around 230 BC the Illyrians were at the height of their power however Agron suddenly died after his win over the Aetolians. Pinnes was the son of Agron, with his first wife Triteuta. He officially succeeded his father as king in 230 BC, but the Ardiaean State was ruled by Agron's second wife, Queen Teuta after divorcing Triteuta. Agron was mentioned by two Greek historians, Appian (95-165 AD) in his Foreign Wars and Polybius (203–120 BC) in his Histories.
