Aretha Wilson - Biography
Aretha Wilson is a Canadian model. She allegedly hit the Titanic star, Leonardo DiCaprio, during a house party thrown by Paris Hilton's ex-boyfriend, film producer Rick Salomon. DiCaprio was allegedly hospitalised after the attack, which left him needing 17 stitches to close up a large cut across his face.
Wilson originally protested her innocence, claiming that she thought Mr DiCaprio was in fact an ex-boyfriend who had been bad mouthing her.
Wilson who was previously ordered to stay at least 500 metres away from DiCaprio, is being held on $US150,000 ($A169,186) bail and was arraigned in a Los Angeles court in 2010. Speaking in court Wilson's lawyer claimed the case was a cover-up and demanded a judge hand over a toxicology report from the night of the attack, and DiCaprio's medical records.
Wilson was only likely to be behind bars for six months as it took so long for her to be extradited to the U.S. from her Canadian. Wilson's lawyer Freddy Sayegh said she was pleased with the outcome, while a prosecutor said DiCaprio was happy the case was resolved before it went to a full trial.
