Heather Ripley - Biography
Heather Ripley is an actress who was born on May 6, 1959 in Dundee, Scotland. She appeared in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968) at the age of seven, she went to Ireland with her mother and sought anonymity. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a 1968 British musical adventure fantasy film, directed by Ken Hughes and written by Roald Dahl and Hughes, loosely based on Ian Fleming's 1964 novel Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang: The Magical Car. The film stars Dick Van Dyke, Sally Ann Howes, Adrian Hall, Heather Ripley, Lionel Jeffries, James Robertson Justice, Robert Helpmann and Gert Fröbe.
As a teenager, Heather ran away from her Dundee home after her parents’ split, which she blamed on her global fame. After a brief foray with acting and modelling at the age of seventeen, and training as an optician, she now devotes her time to "eco-warrior" protests outside the Faslane nuclear submarine base near Greenock in Scotland, UK. She became an activist and lived in makeshift peace camps where she raised her two children, daughter Josie, and son Cosmo.
She eventually settled back into a “normal life” in her hometown of Dundee but her troubles were far from over. In 1999, she faced a legal battle with her family after her aunt and uncle attempted to get her evicted from her grandmother’s house. Seven years later she was arrested for driving without a licence – presumably in a car that just refused to fly.
