Joel Casamayor - Biography
Joel Casamayor Johnson (born July 12, 1971) is a Cuban former professional boxer. He held the WBA super featherweight title, as well as the WBC, Ring magazine and WBO (interim) lightweight titles. As an amateur, Casamayor won a gold medal in the bantamweight division at the 1992 Olympics, after which he defected to the United States on the eve of the 1996 Olympics. His nickname of "El Cepillo", literally translated to "the brush", comes from his uppercut, which is said to rake his opponents across the face, while also representing his ability to "brush off" punches from his opponents.
