Nikki (or Nikki Lee) was a Japanese-American musician, born in Okinawa, Japan and raised in Dayton, Ohio. Signed to Geffen Records, he released one album, Nikki, in 1989. Three singles were released from the album: "Ooti Ooti" and "Notice Me" in 1990, and "If You Wanna" in 1991. Of the three, only "Notice Me" was a hit, reaching #21 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and #11 on Billboard`s Adult Contemporary chart. Nikki was also a backing member of the soul-funk music group, Sun, and a writer of TV commercials.Nikki is also known as Michael Mozart and in 2003 Martika (singer) joined forces with her musician husband Michael Mozart to form the band Oppera. Changing her sound to that of goth pop, she and Mozart released Oppera's debut album Violince in 2004.Oppera is a band consisting of singer Martika and her husband Michael Mozart. The two began recording together and released a debut album, Violince, in 2004. A co-headlining tour in support of the album occurred that year with singer Pat Benatar and her husband Neil Geraldo. In 2005 they released a self-titled second album and toured Borders Books locations. Both albums were released on Dunda Chief Records. A website was set up and an online fan club called Aria 51 was formed. Both had a military motif. They were both taken down in December 2007 with the promise of a revamped site, but as of January 2009, they remain vacant.In June of 2009 it was announced that the duo, now going by the stage names Michael Daemon and Vita Edit, have produced and are starring in a web based television series called "j8ded", which centers around a fictional rock band from the U.K.. According to the website, they are "thrown out of England" and "their possessions and monies are frozen" through a "monumental mistake". The duo heads to the USA to try and rebuild their careers.
