Rez Cortez - Biography
Rez Cortez was born on January 4, 1956 in Canaman, Camarines Sur, Philippines. He is an actor and assistant director, known for Bwakaw (2012), Baby Tsina (1984) and Where I Am King (2014). He has been married to Candy Cortez since 1978. They have four children.
He is known for being an action star in many action films with his intensive and antagonistic roles and also in TV series. He is become an assistant director of the movie "Kapag Lumaban ang Api" in 1987.
Rez Cortez appealed to members of the entertainment industry using illegal drugs to surrender to the police, after two celebrities were arrested. Cortez said that he has appealed for the personalities involved in drugs not to be named:
"As president of Actors Guild, I'm appealing to them (artists using drugs) to surrender and I'm also asking them not to name and not release the list because they are just users. If they [the police] are sure that they are drug lords or pushers, that's okay. But for us in the Actors Guild, we will not stop there. The users are victims. If they need help and need to undergo rehab, we will help our friends in the industry."
