Roxanne Reese - Biography
Roxanne Reese is an actress, singer and comedienne. She toured as the opening act for Mr. Richard Pryor. She portrayed "The Lady in Brown" in for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf at The Booth Theatre. She was nominated for an NAACP Award. She portrayed the "Drunk Lady" (adapted from her original character Ms. Shirley Dupree) on the Martin Lawrence's show and also worked on In Living Color.
Roxanne Reese most recently appeared at the Goodman in Magnolia during 2008/2009 Season. Her Broadway credits include The Lady in Brown in for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf at The Booth Theatre.
She was nominated for an NAACP Award for her performance as Woman Two in Home at The Coronet Theatre in Los Angeles. Television credits include The Drunk Lady (adapted from her original character Ms. Shirley Dupree) on the Martin series and In Living Color. Film credits include Nolinda in Big Momma’s House 2 and starring roles in the two upcoming films The Hustle and Speed-Dating. Ms. Reese toured as the opening act for Mr. Richard Pryor.
She was nominated for a 2009 Joseph Jefferson Award for Actress in a Supporting Role in a play for "Magnolia" at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.
