Sonja Tuchmann - Biography
Born in Munich, Germany, to Polish parents, Sonya joined the theatre program at the local 'Gymnasium' (high school) in Munich. At the age of 16, while still in school, she was runner-up to Miss Teen Germany and was offered a modeling contract one year later. While attending University she split her home between Munich and Paris, fashion shows on the Paris runways followed, as well as dozens of European magazine covers, fashion spreads and over 40 television commercials. In Paris she met director Gerard Oury who cast her in 'L'As des As' starring Jean-Paul Belmondo. Work in Euroean features and TV followed, among them 'Spring Symphony' starring Nastassia Kinski and Bernhard Wicki, and 'Die Supernasen' starring Thomas Gottschalk, the highest grossing movie in Germany in its debut year. Sonya moved to Los Angeles in 1989 to continue her acting career. She is fluent in 4 languages (German, English, French and Spanish), holds a Masters Degree in Psychology and owns her own television production company 'GETV, Inc. German Entertainment Television'.
