Timothy O. Johnson - Biography
Tim Johnson rolled out Johnson Production Group as a solution for distributors seeking network quality production services under efficient cost structures. Previously, Johnson served as West Coast Head of Programming and Production for Pax Television (partnered with NBC.) During his tenure, Johnson developed the hit series, Doc starring Billy Ray Cyrus, Sue Thomas Fbeye, starring Deanne Bray, and Just Cause, starring Richard Thomas. Other series Johnson was responsible for include It's A Miracle (120+eps,) The Ponderosa, Mysterious Ways, and the mini-series, Christy. Prior to Pax, Johnson produced the CBS hit series, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman starring Jane Seymour. During his 6 year - 100 episode tenure - Johnson also launched Live From The Ranch With Orson Bean, a nationally broadcast CBS Radio program focusing on values in America. Following Dr. Quinn, he created and produced the hour-long do-cu-drama, Cold Case for CBS. Hosted by Richard Crenna, this reality program was the very first show to integrate television with the Internet. He also served on the representation side of the entertainment industry, heading the television unit of Tavel Entertainment, which represented such clients as Helen Hunt, Amy Brennerman and Craig T. Nelson. Johnson began his career with producer Barney Rosenzweig, contributing the production on the CBS series, The Trials Of Rosie O'Neill starring Sharon Gless. He had previously produced independent features and works as a research intern at Fox Broadcasting Co. A graduate of the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, he served as President of the USC Entertainment Management Association and a member of the Advisory Commitee of the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. Johnson lives in Santa Monica, California with his wife and four children.
