Anthony Byrne - Biography
Anthony was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1975. After seeing “Raiders of the Lost Ark” he knew he wanted to be a director. His multi award-winning short film “Meeting Che Guevara and the Man from Maybury Hill” was a film festival hit and went on to win the IFTA for best short film in 2003.His feature debut, the indie art house film “Short Order” (2004), was followed by “How About You” in 2007.Byrne has directed “Single-Handed” for RTE/ITV, “Silent Witness” and “Upstairs/Downstairs” for the BBC, an adaptation of Edna O’Brien’s novel “Wild Decembers” as well as multi award-winning drama “Love/Hate” for RTE. Most recently he directed the hit drama, “Mr Selfridge” starring Jeremy Piven for ITV.He has directed commercials for clients such as BMW. His photography has been exhibited in Dublin and London where he now lives.
