Daniel LeBlanc - Biography

Daniel LeBlanc is an award-winning music producer, composer and arranger. His ability to work in a multitude of musical genres and styles has been essential to his success throughout his 2 plus decades of work. In addition to being creative, he is also a very competent businessman with strong leadership skills that have served him well throughout his career.Here are some of the highlights.Daniel started performing well before the age of 10. At 13, he recorded his first EP with Legal Limits for Quality Records, Canada at Sounds Interchange in Toronto. 2 years later they would record a second album for Heavy Metal Records, UK.When Daniel was 15, he moved to Ontario from New Brunswick and was on the road full time performing over 300 shows a year for the next two and a half years.At 18, Daniel went to work for The Air Company in Toronto where he began to hone his skills as a music producer, jingle writer, programmer and engineer. He worked there for about a year before starting Headliner Productions Inc., which focused on advertising audio.He began composing music for TV and film as well as producing artists while continuing to write commercials and perform with various acts that included Honeymoon Suite & The Partland Brothers. His first big success as a producer came with Julian Austin’s debut recording for BMG, which went platinum in Canada.In 1997, Daniel moved into the offices of Pirate Radio and Television to work as a freelance composer/producer where he worked on hundreds of TV and radio commercials over a 6 year span.In 2002 he formed Doane-Leblanc Inc. with Creighton Doane. This relationship focuses on corporate audio and is ongoing.In 2007 Daniel set up Stock Music Store, which licenses production music worldwide through www.stockmusicstore.com. It has grown to be one of the largest and most diverse independently owned libraries on the planet. Daniel owns 100% of the publishing & masters to over 12,000 tracks.Daniel has penned songs with many writers including Alanis Morisette, Dean McTaggert, Harry Hess, Saskia Garel, Creighton Doane, Blair Packham, Jalayne Tradler, and Julian Austin.Producer credits include Julian Austin, Emilie-Claire Barlow, Rockie Lynne, Melanie Doane and Ashley Matte.Daniel was nominated for CCMA Record Producer of the Year three times, has won song-writing awards and has been the recipient of gold and platinum records for his work.Daniel has scored and written songs for numerous television shows & films including Adventure Inc., Psi-Factor, Masquerade Madness, Freakshow, Balance of Power, Outcast, Beyblade, Bakugan, Carebears, Rogers Sportsnet & Hockey Night in Canada to name a few.He co-owns a recording studio in Toronto, Canada, which is where most of his work is produced.
