Dean Shull - Biography

Dean Shull serves as CEO of Catchphrase Entertainment, Inc. and prior to joining CE, he produced the comedy hit “Waiting…”, starring Ryan Reynolds (Van Wilder), Justin Long (Dodgeball, Jeepers Creepers), Luis Guzman (Boogie Nights, Magnolia), Anna Ferris (Lost in Translation, Scary Movie), and Jordan Ladd (Cabin Fever, Club Dread) for Lions Gate Films as well as the documentary “My Big Fat Break” about the world of independent filmmaking.Mr. Shull has also been involved with dozens of film productions including, “The Good Girl” (Jennifer Aniston), “Sexual Life”, “Five Dollars a Day”, “The Hand Job”, “The Mind Man”, “Anguish and Wonderment”, “Follow my Tracks”, “Paper Route”, “Jacaranda Joe”, and “Best Four out of Five”. During Mr. Shull’s career he has developed and produced projects for some of the world’s largest entertainment companies. He has had a working relationship with Disney/MGM Studios for over a decade, where he got his start by producing award shows for the studio. Additionally, he has worked for or in conjunction with many notable companies including Lions Gate Films, Artisan Entertainment, Media Ventures (Hans Zimmer, Jay Rifkin), Fox, LA Squared, Element, National Lampoon’s, Haxan (Blair Witch), Live Planet (Chris Moore, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jeff Balis), Warner Bros., Carol Baum Productions (Parenthood, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Shestack Productions (Air Force One), Fusion Studios (Good Will Hunting, American Pie), and Universal Studios.Previously, Mr. Shull was the owner of Soundscape Productions and has scored for feature film and television. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from FSU with a degree in Marketing and Communications, Mr. Shull finished his college years with an honorary post-graduate film program that allowed him the opportunity to work on 35mm projects with respected directors such as George Romero (Night of the Living Dead), and Robert Wise (Sound of Music).
