Luis Arribas - Biography
Known popularly and affectionately by Don Pollo , a character he introduced to Cadena SER in Barcelona in the 1980s, during his career he worked for different radio stations such as Radio Juventud or Cadena Catalana . He also participated in the program The Spanish Television Orchestra . He was the creator of the popular Europa Musical (1964-69) program at EAJ-15 Radio España in Barcelona, where he introduced and promoted singers such as Luis Aguilé , Françoise Hardy , Salvatore Adamo , Tom Jones , Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra . He was also the promoter of Spanish bands ( Los Sirex or Los Brincos ) and presented The Beatles 3 and the Dynamic Duo in his appearance in Barcelona. His popularity as a radio journalist reached him with the program The city is a million things , a motto that was repeated in Barcelona and that, in the words of Vázquez Montalban , had given rise to "auditory memory". 1He received the Ondas award in 1976 3 and in 2005 he was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi by the Generalitat de Catalunya .
