Michael Petted - Biography
Michael Petted began his career as a musician, drumming in many successful touring bands, and on certain occasions jamming with Bob Dylan and Slash from Guns N' Roses. He discovered his love for acting when he was taken under wing by legendary acting teacher Milton Katselas, under whom he trained personally. Wanting to synthesize the two arts, Petted found himself often drawing inspiration from musicians to portray characters, such as looking to Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam while playing the role of Constantine Treplev in Chekhov’s The Seagull. Michael earned a Los Angeles Ovation Award nomination (LA's Tony Award) for his portrayal of Ray in Lone Star opposite Don Swayze. Lone Star was produced by Patrick Swayze and Doris Roberts. Later the same year, Michael starred in another Ovation nominated play—A Gift From Heaven in which he played opposite Beth Grant. He also received critical acclaim for his stage portrayal of the incorrigible rock star Pony in Eric Bogosian’s Suburbia.This lead to being directed by George Clooney in the HBO series Unscripted, and to television work with Donal Logue and Kevin Corrigan. In his film work, he can be seen starring opposite Lea Thompson and Judd Nelson in the indy family hit Mayor Cupcake, which will air on Showtime in November. His next two projects are psychological thrillers; Spade with Jorge Garcia, and A Good Thing, in which he stars opposite Tom Bower and Anne Gee Byrd.Michael is currently writing songs for his first solo album and starring in the web series Passenger.
