Mike Manning - Biography

Mike was most recently seen starring in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Cloud 9." His role as Nick Swift played well to Manning's strengths and interests in extreme sports including skydiving, bungee jumping and snowboarding.Mike put on his producer's hat in 2014 when he executive produced the film "Kidnapped for Christ" alongside Lance Bass and Tom DeSanto. It debuted at the 2014 Slamdance Film Festival where the documentary received raved reviews and won the Audience Award. The film exposes the compelling subject of teenagers who are unwillingly forced into a behavior modification school in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. Manning recently wrapped production as the lead role in Johnny Martin's "Case Number 13," a horror film taking place in the famous Dunsmuir Hellman Mansion. Prior to that, he starred in "I Do" alongside Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Alicia Witt, The Hallmark Channel's "Operation Cupcake" directed by Bradford May, as well as "Black Hearts," in which he acted and produced. Additional credits include "Campsite Killer" (writer/producer), "Youthful Daze" (actor/producer), "Hawaii Five-0" on CBS and "Crash & Bernstein" on Disney XD. As a writer, Mike is currently developing an unnamed cable pilot (writer/executive producer) about the hidden world of politics.Born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and growing up in Thorton, Colorado, Manning has been volunteering since the age of 8. While in elementary school, he helped put together care packages for kids in need from under-served countries. It was then he felt compelled to give back and has been doing so ever since. In high school he was part of Positive PE, a program that helped mentally challenged kids with physical education. He is now an official ambassador for Boo 2 Bullying along with actress Cassie Scerbo, and a contributor to the My Life My Power campaign in schools. Mike is a mentor and actor on behalf of the Young Storytellers Foundation, whose mission is to inspire children to discover the power of their own voice through individuals from the entertainment industry stepping into classrooms to work with students.After studying business and acting at the University of Northern Colorado and International Business at the University of Monterrey, Mexico he moved to Washington D.C. to make a difference with philanthropy. Mike was active with Energy Action Coalition and the Human Rights Campaign.For years, Mike has loved exploring the world. His adventures would eventually lead to his discovery of a youth orphanage in Tijuana where he continues to travel to and volunteer. Some of his favorite memories include skiing the Swiss Alps, zip lining in Costa Rica and dining in Paris, France. He currently resides in Los Angeles, CA..
