Patrick Labrecque - Biography

Joseph Denis Patrick Labrecque (born March 6, 1971 in LaSalle, Quebec) is a retired Canadian goaltender who played two games (0–1, 4.29 GAA) for the Montreal Canadiens in the 1995–96 NHL season, as well as for many other teams across North America and Europe. He was drafted in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft by the Quebec Nordiques. He wore jersey number 31 for the Canadiens. During the 2001–02 QMJHL season, he was a goaltender coach for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
In 1994, Labrecque signed with the Montreal Canadians (NHL) as a free agent but before he had an opportunity to play with the team he would play the 1994-95 season in AHL with the Fredericton Canadians and the ECHL with the Wheeling Thunderbirds. During the 1995-96 season, Labrecque played in two games with the Montreal Canadians having one loss and a goal against average of 4.29.

After his short time in Montreal, Labrecque played the remainder of the 1995-96 season in Fredericton. He started the 1996-97 season with the Fredericton team but would move on to the IHL and the Quebec Rafales for the rest of it. The following year (1997-98) Labrecque played with two more teams, the Baton Rouge Kingfish (ECHL) and the Hershey Bears (AHL). Over the next two years (1998-00) Labrecque played with five different teams in five different leagues, SC Bietigheim-Bissingen (Germany-3), the EHC Harz (Germany-2), San Angelo Outlaws (WPHL), the Fort Wayne Komets (UHL), and the Bakersfield Condors (WCHL).
