Shaant Hacikyan is an American singer who was born on November 7, 1986.
Indie pop band Cute Is What We Aim For’s current tour won’t be like any other for singer/guitarist Shaant Hacikyan. He’ll still be doing the lyrically wry, musically infectious songs from the Buffalo, N.Y., band’s two albums, in 2006 and 2008. But he’ll be doing them sober, having come through alcohol rehab earlier this year.
Formed in 2005, the band was always known more as sensitive guys than as hard partiers. Like many of his emo brethren, Hacikyan wrote songs about his social and romantic struggles as a teen and he said those songs still make sense now that he’s in his early 30s.
He released a solo single called "Harbor" in April 2010.
