Veit Relin - Biography
The son of a policeman standing at the age of twelve years as an extra at the State Theatre Linz for the first time on stage. He attended grammar school after the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . At the same time he studied painting at the Vienna Academy of Art . He made his debut in 1945 at the State Theatre Innsbruck as play announcer at a performance of everyone .It was followed by engagements at the State Theatre in Linz (1945/46), on the island in Vienna (1946/47), the Burgtheater (1947/48), theater in Chur and summer theater in Winterthur (1949/50), Scala Vienna (1950-1952) , Salzburg State Theater (1952/53), Bavarian National Theater in Munich (1953), Staatstheater Kassel (1953-1955) and the Municipal Theatre Frankfurt (1956/57), where he worked as a set designer for the first time.1960 to 1962 he again played at the Burgtheater. In 1960 he founded in Vienna, the studio theater at the Naschmarkt , which he directed until 1967. He staged there, among others Oskar Kokoschka's Orpheus and Eurydice and the world premiere in Austria (1962) by Picasso How grabs wishes on the tail.From 1964 to Relin went with his future wife, the actress Maria Schell (1926-2005), toured and worked as an actor and director for television. In 1976 he took over in summer Hausen near Würzburg in 1950 by Luigi Malipiero summer houses founded Torturmtheater in a small tower over an old city gate. Relin was married from 1966 to 1986 in second marriage with Maria Schell. This marriage comes from Marie-Theres Relin (* 1966).Veit Relin, on 23 January 2013 at the age of 86 years in Ochsenfurt, near Würzburg, died, was the first February 2013 carried in the cemetery of Sommerhausen to the grave.
