Aleksandr Skvortsov - Biography

Alexander Vikentyevich Skvortsov (Russian: Александр Викентьевич Скворцов) (born August 28, 1954) was a Russian ice hockey player, who competed for the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in the Olympic Games. Skvortsov scored 2 goals during the 1980 games en route to a silver medal, and scored 4 goals in the 1984 games as the Soviets won the gold. He was also a three-time world champion with the Soviet national team.
Alexander Skvortsov played for the Soviet Union National Team, winning the World Championship in 1979, 1981 and 1983. He was also a member of the Soviet team who won the Canada Cup gold medal in 1980 and at the 1984 Olympics. Skvortsov played in over 550 games in the Soviet League, scoring 233 goals and putting up 196 assists.

He ended his career in the Swedish third division in 1994. After his retirement from professional hockey, Skvortsov coached several teams, ending his coaching career with HK Sarov in the Russian VHL in 2011.
