Ann Nichols (iv) - Biography
Ann Nichols is a plein air watercolor and oil painter with a passion for bold color and a gift for observation. The subjects of Ann Nichols’ plein air fine art paintings are as diverse as her travel...beaches, boats, beloved pets, Tahoe landscapes, tropics, Truckee buildings or Parisian street scenes. Ann began her art education at the University of Minnesota and has never looked back. Initially a watercolorist hooked by the spontaneity of the medium, she studied with renown Lake Tahoe painter, Randall Stauss. Then Ann began painting oils 5 years ago. “Now I’m really in love. There is nothing like pushing oil paint around a canvas”. Ann is a 42 year resident of Lake Tahoe. In her other life, she is a California/Nevada Real Estate Broker and avid outdoorswoman.
