Barry McKay - Biography
Barry Arthur McKay has been performing in theatre and film for a decade, He has enjoyed acting from an early age and actively sought after as his goal. He has acting experience in amateur theatre, as well as extra work in hit TV shows such as River City (2002). He was also selected for the shortlist in which to play the most famous character in literary history - "Harry Potter".Although failing to grasp that part, he continued on, performing in student films, building his experience as an actor. He attended Pace Youth Theatre (1998-2000), in which The Last King of Scotland (2006)'s James McAvoy, who also attended the school. Other members included Shauna MacDonald, star of "the Decent", River City (2002) actor Gordon McCorkell, singer Paolo Nutini.After PACE, he attended Scottish Youth Theatre (2000-2001), this shows his constant determination to continue performing as he grew older. While studying acting, Barry learned Karate (1994-present) which has given him the opportunity to widen his goals in the performing arts. Barry has seriously thought about a career in the stunt industry and, with 20years of Karate and with that as an achievement, he has a great future ahead of him.
