Brian G. Hedges - Biography

Brian G. Hedges is the lead pastor for Fulkerson Park Baptist Church in Niles, Michigan. He has been married to Holly since 1996 and has three children: Stephen, Matthew, and Susannah. He has contributed articles to Heartcry! A Journal on Revival and Spiritual Awakening, Pastor Connect, and The Banner of Truth magazine. He is the author of Christ Formed in You: The Power of the Gospel for Personal Change (Shepherd Press, 2010). For fun, Brian enjoys reading, playing golf, hanging out with his family, and watching good movies.I grew up in Tokio, Texas which is about as different from Tokyo, Japan as you can imagine. I am a PK (preacher's kid) who never resented the ministry and started preaching when I was 18. I trusted Jesus as Lord and Savior when I was a teenager and am still coming to grips with the life changing power of the gospel. I have a long ways to go.I've been the Lead Pastor of Fulkerson Park Baptist Church in Niles, Michigan since 2003 and still can't believe I get paid to study and teach the Scriptures. My best friend is Holly, who is also my beautiful wife. I'm not just saying that either - we really are best friends. We talk, play, laugh, cry and pray together and enjoy each other's company immensely. We got married in 1996 and now have four kids. Needless to say our lives are very busy!I've written a number books, including Christ Formed in You, Licensed to Kill, Active Spirituality, Hit List, and Christ All Sufficient. I enjoy reading, golf, chess, and good movies. I love John Calvin, John Owen, and C. S. Lewis, but also really enjoy comic books and virtually anything science fiction. Which means my sermons and books are riddled with theological quotes in Old English juxtaposed with allusions and illustrations from Narnia, Middle Earth, Star Trek, and The X-Files. Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope you and enjoy it!
