Carl Dean - Biography
Carl Thomas Dean, Dolly Parton`s husband, was born on July 20, 1942. Carl met Dolly while he was riding around Nashville in a white Chevy pickup truck. The first time he saw Dolly, he just threw his hand up. That wasn`t enough for him though. He drove back around, and this time stopped and got out of his truck and went to talk to Dolly. This all happened at the Wishy Washy Laudormat back in 1964. In 1966, Carl told Dolly that she was either going to have to move to the other side of town, or they were going to have to get married.
After telling Carl that she wasn`t going to wash dishes, clean up, and that she was still going after her dream to be a country singer, she agreed to get married. On May 30, 1966, Dolly and Carl were married in a church in Ringgold, Georgia. Their trips to Ringgold, and their honeymoon is definately interesting! Parton also states that while the two were having a conversation, Carl looked directly at her eyes, which was a rare thing for her. Though Carl’s mother desired to have a lavish wedding ceremony for the two, Parton was bound by her music contract according to which she had to wait before she walked the aisle. Not wanting to wait, Carl and Dolly married in a hush-hush private ceremony on May 30, 1966 in Ringgold Georgia. Ever since their Big Day, the two have been going strong and celebrated their big 50th Golden Jubilee in 2016 with a second wedding ceremony. Theirs is truly an ideal relationship!
