Jazz Lazer - Biography
Steven Tolson's passion for music and entertainment sparked from an early age and at light speed. Steven Tolson pka Jazz grew up in a home where his mother kept classic R&B; and Soul music in heavy rotation. He started out dancing and shortly after became that kid everyone talked about. As a teenager, his love for Hip Hop grew more intense and he erupted onto the rap scene from hanging around his older brother, Keion. His freshman year of high school, Jazz moved to Las Vegas where he attended Basic High School and met his best friend and inspiration, the hottest MC in town at the time, Michael "Fresh" Selva, RIP. Fresh Ave's inspiration was the spark that took Jazz's development as a rapper to the next level. In June, 2006, after a performance at a local hot spot, he was introduced to the producing powerhouse Jimmy Giannos and Dominic Jordan "DJ" aka The Audibles with whom he would begin to create a sound that was impeccable. An opportunity brought the young and talented bunch on a trip to Atlanta to work out of a premiere studio, where not only would Jazz discover his songwriting skills, but discover his production weapons by collaboration with Das Simmons aka Mr. Pyro and The Audibles. Jazz is currently signed to Future Music under the distinct direction of Executive Producer Jamal Rashid aka MallyMall and writing extraordinaire Jason Boyd aka Poo Bear. It is a ticking time bomb for the high fashioned, fire spitting MC to explode on the scene with a presence that will not be forgotten. In the midst of getting ready to drop a classic mixtape that has all the elements of an album and continue his journey to the top, Jazz's main focuses are to provide for his daughter Jazzelle, entertain, and inspire the world.
