Marina de Cañizares - Biography
Marina de Cañizares is the former wife of Santiago Cañizares. Santiago Cañizares is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He began his professional career in the Real Madrid academy, being mostly a backup and also being loaned twice. He moved to Valencia in 1998, appearing in 418 official matches over the next decade and winning several major titles, including two La Liga championships and the 2004 UEFA Cup.
From his two marriages, Santiago Cañizares fathered seven children, including triplets with his second wife Mayte García. On 23 March 2018, he announced the death of his five-year old son Santi due to cancer.
Marina de Cañizares and Santiago Cañizares divorced after a marriage of 15 years. They had 3 children. The couple got married in 1992 and divorced in 2007.
