Martina Eisenreich - Biography
At the young age of 15, Martina entered the distinguished University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. There, and later at the Film Academy Baden-Wurttemberg, she completed her studies in classical composition, film score and sound design. She received numerous commissions to write music for highly awarded European projects in cinema, television, theatre and radio.In 2007, two films with her music were nominated at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science's 34th Annual Student Academy Award: "Milan" and "Nevermore". The latter was then decorated with the Honorary Foreign Film Award 2007. Triggered by her symphonic score to Fritz Böhm's graduate film "Moonman" (2006), Martina's orchestral work has become a popular repertoire in European classical concert halls. The live-action fantasy about the Man in the Moon's voyage to earth won numerous awards worldwide. With movies such as "My Beautiful Country" (Drama, Bavarian Film Award 2012), "Sleeping Beauty" (German Fairytale) or "Fashion Victims" (Comedy) she is highly recognised for her wide range of musical emotion. Her soundtrack to "Be My Baby", received the coveted Rolf-Hans Müller Award, the highest endowed honour for film music in Germany. In addition to the prize for the best German TV-Movie Score 2013 & 2014, she received the German Record Critics' Award, Leaderboard 2014, and the Art & Culture Award of the district of Erding, Germany.Together with her husband, percussionist and sound artist Wolfgang Lohmeier, Martina has also released several albums and brings her work to the stage, performing with various ensembles.Besides teaching Film Scoring and Sound Design at the HFF, Academy of Television and Film in Munich, Martina also serves on the board of DEFKOM (German Film Composers Union) and is member of DKV (German Composers Association)
