Penny Lovell (@pennyalovell)Please describe yourself in three words:Dedicated, humorous, and shopaholic.What was your first job?As PA to John Frieda the hairdresser.When did you know you'd made it?I'm still making it every day, but being asked to write a bi-monthly column for HarpersBazaar.com was a pretty amazing moment.What was your most stressful moment?Leaving my passport on Saturday in a photocopier shop (closed on Sundays) when I was flying (with all the clothes) to join Keira Knightly on my first-ever press tour on that Sunday. They actually accepted a copy of my passport as ID. I can’t believe I was that lucky. It was years ago and I still have shivers about that.Who is your ultimate style icon?I’m reading Diana Vreeland Memos: The Vogue Years and she is amazing. Also Iris Apfel. No one has ever accessorized better than these ladies, their individuality, their use of color, print, silhouette, just everything. .What's your favorite look you've ever created?That’s so tough. I have different favorites for different reasons but I will go with Rose Byrne in the Elie Saab white embellished jumpsuit at the SAG awards 2012. It was so great to see her on the carpet in a black tie version of something she wears so much in life.What's inspiring you now?I’m looking at images of the '20s and '30s. Diane Lane in The Cotton Club and also Burberry's S/S 14 collection. I want to wear it all, work with it all, and see everyone in it.What's your desert island essential?My Kindle and my 3-year-old daughter (although one would preclude use of the other). Oh, and sunscreen of course.
