Philip David Charles "Phil" Collins RVO, is an English-American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music producer voice actor and actor. He gained fame as both the drummer and lead singer for the famous rock band Genesis as well as worldwide success as a solo artist. Collins also sang the lead vocals on dozens of hit albums and singles in the UK and the US between 1976 and 2010, either solo or with Genesis. His solo singles, sometimes about lost love and often featuring his distinctive gated reverb drum sound, had also included the atmospheric "In the Air Tonight", power ballad "Against All Odds", dance rock of "Sussudio" and the political and religious connotations of "Another Day in Paradise". AllMusic also calls Collins as "one of the most successful pop and adult contemporary singers of the '80s and beyond".
