Ruth McGill - Biography
Ruth McGill is from Donegal and is a classically trained singer and actress. She graduated from the Professional Acting Course at Trinty College Dublin in 2003 and since that time has appeared in numerous plays in The Abbey, The Gate, The Project and The Olympia amongst others and received a Best Supporting Actress nomination from The Irish Times Theatre Awards for her performance in Freefall with Corn Exchange Theatre Company. Ruth also studied and trained as a soprano with Dr. Veronica Dunne at The Royal Irish Academy of Music. Most recently, she performed in the rehearsed reading/performance of a new musical in the Making by ThisIsPopBaby entitled, Alice in Funderland at The Project Arts Centre. Other musical endeavours include Pop Ceili at The Electric Picnic and The Two Ruths at The Dublin Fringe Festival. She has sung at numerous weddings and funerals since she was 15 years old and has appeared in various musicals including Sweeney Todd at The Gate Theatre and the comedy musical Macbecks at The Olympia. She is also a founding Member of the cabaret company; Songspiel.
