Sandra Lean - Biography
Sandra was the widow, and the last of the five wives of famed director David Lean. She was then briefly married to movie producer and studio head John Calley.In 2001, on the occasion of the DVD release of her late husband Sir David Lean's Dr. Zhivago (1965), Lady Lean and co-author Barry Chattington published their book 'David Lean: An Intimate Portrait'.Was a successful London art dealer with a house in Knightsbridge who had two failed marriages before marrying Sir David Lean in 1990.Provided commentary on the DVD of Ryan's Daughter (1970). It was in Harrods Food Hall in 1985 that the fortysomething art dealer Sandra Cooke, as she was then, had her first accidental encounter with a then 77-year-old Lean.
