Mohammad Abdus Salam NI, SPk, KBE (Punjabi, Urdu: محمد عبد السلام; 29 January 1926 – 21 November 1996), was a Pakistani theoretical physicist who, upon sharing the 1979 Nobel Prize in Physics for his contribution to electroweak unification, became the first Pakistani to receive a Nobel Prize and also the second Muslim to win the Nobel prize, after Anwar Sadat of Egypt, and the first Muslim to win the prize in science.
