Adela Holzer - Biography
Adela Holzer is a Spanish director and producer who was born on 1929. In 1975, she was riding high. Then she wasn’t. By the next spring, she had produced three new Broadway flops: The Scott Joplin opera “Treemonisha” held on for almost two months, but both “Truckload” and “Me Jack, You Jill” closed in previews.
Holzer was accused of promising to expedite residency and citizenship paperwork for immigrants with the supposed help of a U.S. senator in Washington. Using the name Adela Rosian, she charged each immigrant up to $3,000 for her "services" and sometimes asked for additional funds to cover her travel expenses to D.C.
Adela Holzer died on September 1, 2019 in Boca Raton, Florida. The death, which was not reported at the time, was confirmed this week by her son Carlos Castresana, with whom she had lived in a suburb of Fort Lauderdale.
