Dondon Ampalayo - Biography
Cresencio "Dondon" Ampalayo (born on April 18, 1963 in Cebu City, Philippines), is a retired Filipino professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association. He won the PBA Rookie of the Year in 1986 while suiting up for Ginebra San Miguel. He is now living in the United States with his wife Anne Pasco Ampalayo and sons: Aldreen Pasco Ampalayo and Zachary Pasco Ampalayo.
Dubbed as the 'Magician' or the 'Magic man' in the PBA, Dondon won Rookie of the Year honors in 1986 while suiting up for Ginebra San Miguel. Before turning pro, Ampalayo saw action for ESQ Merchants in the PABL.
Ampalayo slightly improved on his scoring average as a Milkmen. Dondon played two more seasons with Alaska and retired at the end of the 1995 PBA season.
Dondon is now living in the United States with his wife Anne Pasco Ampalayo, and sons Aldreen Pasco Ampalayo and Zachary Pasco Ampalayo.
