Garry Pankhurst - Biography

Garry Pankhurst (born October 1958) is an Australian former child actor, best known for his role as Sonny Hammond in the 1960s Australian children's television series Skippy.
He left the acting profession and went into hotel and restaurant management. He later started a career in meat export to Malaysia which ironically included kangaroo meat, a situation he referred to as "Sonny's revenge".

He is an actor, known for Skippy the Bush Kangaroo (1967), The Intruders (1969) and Skippy: Australia's First Superstar (2009). Skippy the Bush Kangaroo (known commonly as Skippy) is an Australian television series created by Australian actor John McCallum, Lionel (Bob) Austin and Lee Robinson produced from 1967–1969 (airing from 1968–1970) about the adventures of a young boy and his highly intelligent pet kangaroo, and the various visitors to the fictional Waratah National Park in Duffys Forest, near Sydney.
