Hon. Jane Teresa Denyse Ormsby-Gore was born on 13 December 1942. She is the daughter of William David Ormsby-Gore, 5th Baron Harlech and Sylvia Thomas.Jane Ormsby Gore worked for Vogue in the early 1960s and was involved in Hung on You, an avant garde men's clothing shop in Chelsea owned by her then husband Michael Rainey.
She married Michael Sean O'Dare Rainey, son of Major Sean Rainey and Joyce Marion Wallace, on 24 September 1966. She and Michael Sean O'Dare Rainey were divorced in 1984. Her married name became Rainey and they had 4 children.
