Jean Fraser Kerr Minetti - Biography

Jean Kerr Minetti was born on January 21, 1924 in Washington, District of Columbia, USA as Jean Fraser Kerr. She was married to Giacinto Joseph Minetti and Joseph McCarthy.
Daughter of William P. Kerr and Elizabeth Fraser Kerr, both natives of Scotland. Her first husband was U.S. Senator Joseph R. McCarthy (R-WI), whom she married in 1953. After his death, she remarried to G. Joseph Minetti, former vice-president of the Civil Aeronautics Board. She had one daughter, Tierney Elizabeth.

Mrs. Minetti attended George Washington University and later graduated from Northwestern University. She worked as a writer and researcher for former Secretary of the Interior Harold Ickes. Later, she taught art at the Corcoran Museum in Washington and the Montgomery College School of Art.
