Russell Durham Comegys - Biography
Russell Comegys was raised in Vidalia, Georgia. Graduated from Vidalia Comprehensive High School and attended Brewton Parker College in Mount Vernon Georgia, a Baptist College, where he took his first acting class. Transferred to the University of Georgia where he changed majors his senior year from Biology and Literature to Theatre and a Minor in Spanish.
Studied with Martha Burgess, Nick Conti and Gene Gabriel Moore in Atlanta then moved to New York City to hone his craft at The Lee Strasberg Institute and the Gene Frankel Studio. He rescued three, six week old puppies, in a South Georgia hunting club. He named them Stella Priscilla, Laura Ruth and Dana Cristina Fox.
Dana was adopted by a family in the historic Oakhurst neighborhood of Decatur and is now named June Pointer. Pups were originally named...Dana, Andrea, and Kimberly. Stella Priscilla and Laura Ruth reside with him.
