She was born to Sam Clark Cobb Jr. and wife Amy Beulah Schlemmer.She is the Mother of actresses Haylie Duff and Hilary Duff.Is a descendant through Cobb and Smith of the Payne, Warner, Dandridge (first cousin many times removed of Martha Dandridge, wife of George Washington and grandmother-in-law of Robert Edward Lee), Spotswood and West families of v*rginia, in turn descended many times from John of Gaunt (a great-great-grandfather of Catherine of Aragon), twice from Mary Boleyn, sister of Anne Boleyn and first cousin of Catherine Howard, and twice from a sister and a brother of Henry VIII's maternal grandmother.
