Basshunter - Biography

Jonas Erik Altberg (born 22 December 1984), better known by his stage name Basshunter /ˈbeɪs.hʌn.tər/ (stylized sometimes as BassHunter), is a Swedish singer-songwriter, record producer, and DJ. He is best known for his number one hits "Boten Anna", "Vi sitter i Ventrilo och spelar DotA", "Now You're Gone" and "All I Ever Wanted". Basshunter has so far released a total of six albums, two of which have been released in the United Kingdom. His UK single, "Saturday", was released in July 2010, and he also competed in hit reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother in January 2010. His song "Sverige" was also used as Sjölunden's International Day song in 2008.
Jonas Altberg was born and raised in Halmstad, Sweden, and lived with his parents, Karl Göran Altberg and Gunhild Elisabet Altberg, and younger brother, Joakim, near Tylösand beach. His mother was a teacher and head of a secondary school. His father worked in a construction company. Basshunter first went to Kattegattgymnasiet lyceum, a technical school. However, he moved to Sturegymnasiet lyceum in Halmstad to study music. He also attended college but did not complete his program.

During his time on the reality show Celebrity Big Brother he was in an intimate relationship with Ekaterina Ivanova. After being a couple for two years, Basshunter married Tina Makhia Khayatsadeh on 19 January 2017. The wedding took place in the Dubai Polo Equestrian Club in the presence of singers Arash and Margaret, Jan Thesleff, Sweden's ambassador to the United Arab Emiarates, and Jonas Siljemark, the chief executive officer of Warner Music Sweden.
