Kamilla Senjo - Biography

Kamilla Senjo is a German TV presenter , radio - and television journalist in particular, by ARD. In Germany she is widely known for her presentation of the daily ARD Boulevard magazine Brisant. Senjo grew up partly in Ukraine (Ukrainian Socialist Soviet Republic, then still part of the Soviet Union) and partly in East German Leipzig. Her father is Hungarian and her mother half Ukrainian and half German. When Senjo was five years old, the family moved from the Ukraine to Leipzig in the GDR.
After her Abitur she studied Germanist and journalism at the University of Leipzig. During her studies she already worked at the local radio and her child's dream started to take shape. After several applications she became a volunteer at radio Leipzigand subsequently got a job as newsreader. After working for the radio for several years, she thought it was time for change. She applied for newsreader at MDR -aktuell. She was invited in 2003, a casting followed and shortly after she got the promise to join the editorial team. Initially she worked both on the radio and on television, until the foreign editors of MDR noticed her because of her foreign language knowledge.

She speaks German, Hungarian and Russian. As editor of reports from foreign news programs from MDR and ARTEshe could also use her creativity behind the camera. In October 2010 she was admitted to the editorial team of Brisant, initially for maternity replacement for Mareile Höppner, with whom she has been working and presenting editions alternately every week since January 2013. In 2013 they received the public Bambi for this program. Since April 2013 she also works for the MDR magazine Heute im Osten and since February 2014 she is one of the permanent editors of MDR um 2.
