Kelvin Hale - Biography
Kelvin was born in Brooklyn, New York, June 18, 1969. The youngest child of 3 children of his now deceased father, Roy Hale Sr. (d. 1989) and his mother, Susie Thomas. After a troubled and turbulent childhood, Kelvin found his way into the Times Square Boxing gym that was once located in the heart of Times Square on 42nd St (between 6th Avenue & Broadway). Kelvin would later compete in 4 New York Golden Gloves boxing tournaments and making to the finals all 4 times. He was crowned champion in 2 of the 4 GG championships. His pro debut would take place (Nov. 1st, 1997) after having taken a 1 year hiatus from boxing after his 1995 Golden Glove championship victory. His last professional fight was against former heavyweight champion Oliver McCall (May 10, 2005).
