Teddie Beverley was born on May 5, 1927 in Bethnal Green, London, England as Hazel Chinery. She is a twin sister of Babs Beverley and younger sister of Joy Beverley. She and her sisters were awarded the M.B.E. (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2006 Queen's New Years Honours List for their services to music.
The Beverley Sisters were a British female close harmony pop vocal and light entertainment trio, most popular during the 1950s and 1960s.
Eldest sister Joy, and the twins, Teddie and Babs, comprised the trio. Their style was loosely modelled on that of their American counterparts, the Andrews Sisters. Their notable successes included "Sisters" and the seasonal tunes "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus", "Little Donkey", and "Little Drummer Boy".
